Tia Simmons, currently a Technology Trainer for the Technology Training Team of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), has worked in education for over 15 years. She graduated with a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University and then went on to pursue her certification in Instructional Design & Technology shortly thereafter. Tia has completed Apple certification, SMART certification and has participated as a Discovery Education Network Educator. She has facilitated online learning opportunities as an Online Course Facilitator for the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). She is also a member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the Maryland Society for Education in Technology (MSET), the Association for Talent Development (ASTD) and Learning Forward. Throughout her years of experience, Tia has had the privilege of being a classroom teacher, Grade-Level Leader, Mentor Teacher, and new Teacher Trainer. She has also had the opportunity to present in various arenas such as Apple, the Maryland Associations of Boards of Educations, the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA), the Maryland Society for Education in Technology, virtually for the University of Michigan School of Education and Simple K12.com. Tia, who is passionate about professional development and lifelong learning, currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two children ages 7 and 1.
